A new collaboration centre at the heart of the Ford Dunton Campus

Services: Furniture advice, procurement, delivery and installation.

Drivers: Refurbishment of a dated space to encourage collaboration and the return to the workplace.

We’ve been providing furniture services to Ford regularly since the turn of the century. More recently we’ve been helping them to refresh their Dunton Campus in Essex. In our latest project we helped the Ford design team to furnish a 65,000 sqft space to serve as the main collaboration hub at the heart of the Dunton Campus.

The refurbishment of the new collaboration centre, finished at the end of 2023, is a space for people to come together to socialise and meet in a range of different settings that have been designed to accommodate different meeting styles and sizes.

It also includes the main Ford cafe where everybody from factory workers to the executives come to eat lunch. There are bookable wellness and maternity rooms with white noise machines and mood lighting and a leadership space which was moved to be more accessible to other teams.

There are new spaces for focused work, using an employee-to-desk ratio of 2-1 to accommodate for changes in hybrid working patterns.

The collaboration space also forms part of Ford’s return to work scheme aiming to provide more attractive working spaces with more choice and control over work settings to encourage its people to spend more time in the office.
