The challenge:
Lancashire County Council in partnership with BT Superfast Broadband needed a new state-of-the-art technology hub to provide facilities to promote broadband capabilities while also providing a unique collaborative space to support local small businesses.
The background:
As a key part of this new initiative the new technology hub aims to promote Superfast Broadband’s capabilities while also providing local businesses with specialist support services. The centre is run by a team of advisors whose aim is to help Lancashire’s business community to get the most out of Superfast Broadband, while also providing free advice to help nurture and grow local businesses by equipping them with the skills and expertise needed to compete on a larger scale.
The solution:
The new business support centre is a space that aims not just to promote and demonstrate the capabilities of BT’s Superfast Broadband but to also support local businesses by bringing them together in a state-of-the-art- facility that ultimately promotes and encourages innovation and engages and energizes users.
Steelcase media:scape collaboration units and lounge seating were used to create hubs to encourage sharing of knowledge in a comfortable and engaging environment. Steelcase Think task chairs and FrameOne desks completed the look to provide touchdown points for mobile workers and project teams.
