St Bart’s school in Newbury is a forward-thinking comprehensive school, one of the best in the country. In 2017, IE was asked to pitch to provide design and furniture services to help enhance its 6th form centre which was now too small to accommodate all the needs of the 500 students who used it.
Creating a new HQ from an iconic, grade 2 listed, former motor factory in Hammersmith. The new office layout was designed around the move to agile working in a modern and innovative workspace that encouraged collaboration.

This project for Solai Services Ltd was to choose and install workplace furniture to complement the contemporary design of its new UK headquarters in Wembley which was to accommodate around 80 people over four floors.
Solai was looking for a modern, open plan office space with clean lines and high quality furniture backed up by comprehensive manufacturer warranties. The result is a modern workplace with light and clean open workspaces, elegant, well-equipped meeting rooms and splashes of vibrant colour throughout.
Alnylam Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Since its foundation in 2002, it has grown to employ more than 360 employees from its US headquarters. The company prides itself on offering a superior benefits package to meet the varied personal and workplace needs of its employees. As part of this strategy, Alnylam acknowledges that its workplace is a key tool in its employee attraction and retention program, helping to inspire and engage its employees and contribute to its brand culture.
Insightful Environments was tasked with specifying all the furniture and integrated technology for the initial phase of Alnylam's new office. Alnylam wanted a reliable partner who could supply and install the furniture and AV equipment as well as manage the move to its new building.
Based in Swindon, RWE Npower had seen rapid growth and was looking to explore mobile working to future proof a recently acquired workplace.
After carrying out an extensive user engagement process with AWA consultants, our teams were engaged by RWE Npower based to furnish its new Asset Development and Technology Department areas.
Our teams were invited to design a partial refurbishment for redevelopment and refurbishment experts Forrest in its headquarters in Bolton. However, after Forrest was shown some preliminary concept plans and budgets, it became fully committed to a full scope fit-out.
Re:centre is an exciting and dynamic space at the heart of the University of Bradford’s City Campus. The £6m centre, which is home to small businesses and business students, is designed to make peoplere-think business, re-think resources and re-think the future. In line with its ecological beliefs, the centre is committed to the Circular Economy model, where all materials are chosen and products designed, for their ability to be re-used and re-manufactured.
Astellas’ HQ covering 100,000 sq. over three floors represents a strategic manoeuvre to demonstrate its status as a global leader. Its new HQ needed to provide employees with an inspiring and collaborative space that supports various working styles but which, just as importantly, also creates a cultural change by unifying its previously distributed teams.
As the long-term trusted partner to BT, our team was given the opportunity to provide seating and desks for the presenters and journalists on the main set. The launch of the new sports channel meant that BT needed to create a new studio to accommodate its journalism, research and production teams along with a new film set for news and coverage broadcasts across the channel.
Lancashire County Council in partnership with BT Superfast Broadband needed a new state-of-the-art technology hub to provide facilities to promote broadband capabilities while also providing a unique collaborative space to support local small businesses.
